My Morning Routine (Monday through Friday)

Everyone has a morning routine and most people start out with a cup of coffee.  I start my morning routine with some water and a workout.  I wake-up, get dressed in my workout clothes, turn on some music, put Sarge’s food in his dish, refill my glass or stainless steel water bottle and head into our fitness room.

Our fitness room is one of our three bedrooms and is not a huge space.  The Bowflex Max Trainer sits in one corner of the room, the weight bench sits in another while the TRX straps hang from the ceiling.  I keep my dumbbells along the floor under the window.  Our rowing machine doesn’t fit in this room so it sits in the living room.

I open the closet because there is a shelf in there that holds my fitness log, water bottle, and wrist gloves.  I review my fitness log every weekend and get it ready for the new week.  This keeps me organized.

I set out the equipment I need for my workout, mark down the start time and get to working out.  After I finish my workout, I put everything away and head out to the dining room.  I set up my tablet, planner and pens to get ready to work on the plans for the day.  I open all the curtains in the living room and dining room as I love natural light and the sunshine!

Next, I do some chores, like unloading the dishwasher or cleaning the main bathroom.  Sitting down, I plan out my day whether it is work related or personal related.  Eat breakfast.   It is all planned out.

Now off to shower and get ready for work (my 9-5 job).  Once I am ready for work, I review my planner to ensure I didn’t forget anything.  I make the bed and open the curtains in the bedroom for more natural light. I pack my lunch since right now our hours are still shorter.  Normally, during an 8 hour work day, I would go home for my hour lunch.

Varying Morning Routines

Morning routines can vary depending on what you have going on in your life.  Some of you may have children to tend to and you may never have the same routine unless you create one.  For example, perhaps you find a way to get up before the children to have 30 minutes or more to yourself to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea or meditate or do some yoga.  Some of you may just go on the fly.

Whatever your routine is, try to find time for you.  If it is one thing I know about being a mom, is that you may not always get time for you, but creating that “me” time could change how you view things that happen throughout your day.

Good luck on creating a routine that works for you and remember to reward yourself.  Please feel free to request a copy of my free workout plan by signing up on the form to the right and choosing the fitness box. You can also choose the Life/Travel box to receive a free morning routine list.
