Stress affects our health and many of us usually do not take time or make time to learn how to deal with it.  In reality, we are all so busy with our everyday lives getting from one moment to the next that on the outside we don’t realize how stress is affecting us.

I didn’t realize how stress was affecting me or that I was even stressed.  My adrenals did though.  Adrenals are small glands located at the top of your kidneys.  

These small glands produce hormones and specifically the cortisol hormone or as most people know this as the stress hormone.  

My previous post on stress and health I shared with you how I found out and what I take to help my adrenals.  I have changed my diet as well.  My husband and I eat somewhat close to a keto diet.  We cut out the bulk of our carbs, desserts and caffeine.  

Your diet can help with adrenal fatigue.  That is what your adrenals are feeling – tired.  Stress makes you tired and affects the glands.  All we can do is keep taking those supplements and work on different ways of destressing.

Did I share this diagnosis with others?

You better believe I did.  Every woman I know about my age (48) who I know that is run down and stressed out.  Everyone can have adrenal fatigue, not just women.  I do not know enough about its effects on men to give information about.  However, I believe that men can have the same problem.

Supplements

I take the following supplements every day:

  • Magnesium
  • Melatonin
  • Women’s One a Day
  • Drenamin 2x per day (Monday – Friday)
  • Drenatrophin Pmg 2x per day (Monday – Friday)

I also take a hormone that is prescribed by my doctor.  Everyday I do the best I can to work with my stress level and help my cortisol levels.  Working out is a good way to manage stress.  Take a look at my work out plan here.
