Fitness motivation, here we go again.  We all need motivation to keep accomplishing any goal we set and this goes especially for getting fit.  I read an article about self perception, How to Motivate Yourself to Get To Get Fit at 40 and Beyond and thought that would apply here as well.

Self perception is how we perceive ourselves so we need to own what we want.  You want to be fit?  You have to make fitness a priority in your life just like anything else.  Making a doctor appointment is easy but making an appointment to workout isn’t.  We all have been down that rabbit hole of “I’ll make it up tomorrow or later.”  DON’T FALL DOWN THAT HOLE!

Think Outside The Box

Two thumbs up in the background with word of encouragement for fitness over the top of the hands. Words like motivate, coaching, people, Improve, etc.

The article gives some very good advice and different ways and places you can workout especially if you have young children who are in some type of activity (i.e. soccer, football, ballet, etc).  So where are the excuses now?

You cannot possibly make any excuses if you are thinking outside the box.  In today’s technological world there are many ways to get in a workout.  Use your cellphone to access a favorite workout app, to access Pinterest for the workouts you saved, and perhaps some links you sent to your email for later.  So check out the article!

Never Skip Monday

We all have hectic schedules and busy weekends.  Maybe we don’t plan or schedule workouts on the weekends – which is totally fine.  I don’t schedule workouts on the weekends so I can spend time cleaning or with my husband.  I get it – you want to have time to catch up from what you didn’t get done during the week or you just want time to do whatever you want.

Sunday is the day we all prepare for the week ahead.  Some prepare meals, some plan out their work week (that’s me) and some fly by the seat of their pants.  While you are preparing your week, you can also plan your workouts.

If you are not a Monday morning person, plan an easy, quick workout you can do.  No one ever said you had to have an hour or more workout to have worked out.  The difference is how you feel after the workout.  So don’t skip your Monday workout.

Motivation Confession

A friend of mine recently posted on facebook about her lack of motivation for her work out on Tuesday morning.  She just wasn’t feeling it.  She is talking about her youngest son in the post.  I didn’t want to include the pictures she attached with the post to respect her privacy.  Read below what she posted:

I was so tired and absolutely did not want to do my in-home HIIT workout session this morning. I got up and took my Thrive and bucked up.

Each move burned, I was breathing hard, and completely drenched in sweat. Half way through I wanted to give up, throw in the towel.

I thought the boys were watching toonies, I grabbed my water and was going to quit, heck nobody would know, right? I looked across the room and this little bug was doing baby squats and watching me. He smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

He has no clue that he re-motivated me to finish. His smile and his beliefs in me made me tear up and remember WHO I am doing it for. My boys, they watch me and follow in foot. I finished my workout and feel amazing!

Forever I will finish, I will continue, I will push forward no matter how hard life is because of WHO is watching and following me.

I love you bug,  thank you for pushing me today and everyday
