Traveling and fitness do not have to be an either/or situation.  Just plan accordingly.  This week my husband and I will leave for Wisconsin for almost two weeks and I have decided that my fitness will not be pushed to the side.  I need to keep that motivation going and just because I am on vacation is not a good enough excuse.

In my traveling packing list, I included fitness equipment I plan to take along.  The only item I decided not to take is my kettlebell.  I have not been adding it into my workouts lately and felt it was not a needed item.

The packing list on my blog doesn’t include workout equipment but on my printed list it does.  So for this trip I am taking my two eight pound dumbbells, five pound weighted ball, yoga mat, yoga blocks, loop bands and of course my fitness log.

Finding Time to Workout While on Vacation

We will be staying with my dad and if you have a dad that is 71 years old like mine, you know that they are up as early as the sun if not before.

Finding time to get a workout in will not be too difficult since number one, I do not sleep well in a different bed and number two, my dad is up early and I can hear him going about the house.

So I will be getting that workout in as soon as I get up in the morning.  Will help keep me energized throughout the day – I hope.  🙂

Vacations are great especially because you don’t have to go to work.  Some look as working out as a job.  I look at it as a daily appointment to myself just like a doctor appointment.

I have mentioned that before in posts and I mention it here again only because I believe that you truly have to make an appointment to workout.

You will keep that appointment just like you do any other appointments you make.  I even put this appointment in my planner.

No Excuses!  Make that daily appointment for yourself to workout and take care of you!  You won’t regret it in the long run and you are showing your children, family and friends a good example.
